Obligat methylotrophe Bakterien, die C,-Verbindungen iiber den Hexulosephosphat-Weg assimilieren, verfiigen nicht iiber einen geschlossenen Citrat-Zyklus. PATEL et al. (1969), COLBY u. ZATMAN (1972), DAHL et al. (1972) und DAVEY et al. (1972) konnten in verschiedenen Bakterien keine a-Ketoglutarat-Dehydrogenase-Aktivitat messen. Auch das von uns untersuchte Bakterium Pseudmonas W6, das auf Methanol als Energie-und Kohlenstoffquelle angewiesen ist, besitzt keine or-Ketoglutarat-Dehydrogenase (BABEL u. HOFMANN 1975).
