“…If one understands the concept of development in the broad sense of global structural policies and global social engineering, and if one assumes "anthropology of development" instead of (applied) "development anthropology" in a narrow sense, then we are, in fact, dealing with a process of differentiation and dissolution of boundaries. Alongside the differentiation of development policy, particular global policies are now being researched instead of a uniform object called "development": they include agricultural and environmental policies (Münster and Münster, 2012;Weisser et al, 2013); education policies (Fichtner, 2012); immigration policies (Drotbohm, 2011); gender policies (Feuerbach, 2011); health policies (Hardon and Dilger, 2011;Kroeker, 2012;Park, 2012); children's policies (Alber, 2012;Fay, 2019); cultural policies (Pelican, 2010;Röschenthaler and Diawara, 2011); legal policies (Eckert et al, 2012;Kolloch, 2021); resource policies (Hoinathy and Behrends, 2014); security policies (Kirsch and Grätz, 2010;Beek, 2017;Göpfert, 2020); administrative and organisational policies (Rottenburg, 2009;Hüsken, 2006;Werthmann and Schmitt, 2008;Bierschenk et al, 2014). German anthropologists remain primarily interested in the local effects of these policies in the Global South, and much less to date in other stations of these translation chains.…”
