Abstract

Images on the front cover:The Malaysian Agricultural Research and Development Institute (MARDI) has been tasked by the government with conducting sweet potato crop research and development. MARDI has developed several technologies at the upstream and downstream levels that can help to enhance farmer's yield and income. MARDI Bachok, Kelantan, as a Tubers Crop Research Center of Excellence (COE), has successfully introduced sweet potato cultivars such as Gendut (1994), Telong and Jalomas (2000), Vitato (2007), and Anggun (2017). MARDI recently released Lembayung (2021), a purple-fleshed sweet potato with a high anthocyanin content (7.05 mg g -1 ) and yield (30 t ha -1 ). Lembayung can be harvested as early as 104 days.
