Abstract: Chickpeas (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) contain various healthpromoting bioactive components. Examples: Alkaloids, anthocyanins, catechins, carbohydrates, fibre, flavonoids, phytic acid, quercetin, saponins, steroids, tannins and terpenoids are plant components. Nevertheless, little is known about how these bioactive chemicals function in progressive situations.
