Elamite kings, Sukkalmah period

Abstract: The Sukkalmah period, spanning roughly the first half of the second millennium BCE , was the longest uninterrupted period in Elamite history. It is named after a dynasty of Elamite rulers that initially reigned under the authority of the kings of Šimaški, who contributed to the downfall of the Sumerian Ur III Dynasty . Under Šimaškean hegemony, sukkalmahs ruled in Susa, Anšan (Anshan), Šimaški, and Elam.
