Elastase II Gene Encoding as Inflammatory Molecules in Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia

Abstract: Acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML) is characterized by uncontrolled proliferation with the bone marrow (BM) of malignant myeloid progenitors arrested in their maturation process and the egress of these abnormal cells into the circulation. There is evidence that neutrophil production is a balance between the proliferative action of granulocyte-colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) and a negative feedback from mature neutrophils. Recently, there have been reports on mutations in neutrophil elastase (ELA2) gene in gen… Show more

“…Heterologous bone grafts for alveolar ridge augmentation induce a reaction in the human organism, as they are recognized as non-self elements (36)(37)(38)(39). The organism reacts by switching on several processes, which can be analyzed and studied by means of morphological and molecular approach.…”

“…Each grafting material, regardless of its origin, when placed in the host tissue, may induce different inflammatory responses (36)(37)(38)(39). For these reason, iNOS expression was checked.…”

“…PGD2 exerts its actions by binding to two types of specific cell surface receptors. One is DP, which is better characterized (the POD receptor) and the other is chemoattractant receptor-homologous molecule expressed on Th2 (CRTH2) (26)(27)(28). Pharmacological blockade or genetic ablation of DP e/or CRTH2 is associated with a reduction in tissue inflammation (29)(30)(31)(32)(33).…”
