Electric and Thermal Model of Li-ion battery pack with cylindrical components

Abstract: In this paper, a Lithium-Ion battery pack is analyzed, modelled and simulated under the Comsol © , Software package. Two cooling methods are investigated in this paper : air-cooling approach and direct liquid cooling approach. This physical oriented model allows to understand the rationale behind the battery pack dynamics and choose an equivalent circuit model which can be used for the State Of Charge (SOC) estimation, the heat prediction and the battery thermal management and control.
