Electric Vehicle green routing with possible en-route recharging

Abstract: The deployment of Electric Vehicles (EVs) is constrained mainly by the restricted autonomy, the lack of charging stations, the battery recharge time and recuperation capability (e.g. braking phases or downhill). In this study we aim to develop a green routing tool to encourage the use of EV. To overcome the autonomy limitation we propose a methodology for the EV that includes a charging stations location model, an energy graph construction for EV routing and a resolution scheme for the routing problem with rec… Show more

“…Other than single-objective, researchers that try to develop GVRP concepts also use multi-objective. The example of this multi-objective are minimizing fuel consumption and optimizing customer satisfaction [63], minimizing fuel consumption and carbon emission [64,65,66], minimizing total cost and carbon emission [67,68,69,70,71], minimizing total travel distance and carbon emission [72,74,78,80] or fuel consumption [73,79,81], minimizing total travel distance and energy consumed [75,76,82], minimizing cost and air pollution [87], and improving energy efficiency and customer satisfaction [77].…”

“…Other specific traditional cost-optimization problems such as the vehicle routing problem or travelling salesman problem, where a monetary cost-optimization of delivery problems is sought (i.e. delivery of goods, products and services to multiple costumers considering time constraints, range constraints, and operational cost), are adapted to the case of electric vehicles [14], [15] and electric vehicle fleets including charge scheduling and battery 1524-9050 © 2019 IEEE. “…Many other routing and reloading policies have been investigated, see e.g. (Baouche et al 2014;Wang, Cassandras, and Pourazarm 2014;Hayakawa et al 2014). But in all those papers, loading station positions were assumed to be given.…”
