Electrical Conduction Behavior of BaO-doped LaInO3 Perovskite Oxide

Abstract: In the La1-xBaxInO3-δ system, the compositions of x=0.1–0.3 were analyzed to consist of cubic and orthorhombic structures. The composition of x=0.4, viz., La0.6Ba0.4InO3-δ, was analyzed to be a single phase of a simple cubic. Under a dry atmosphere, La0.6Ba0.4InO3-δ exhibited a mixed conduction behavior of oxide ion and p-type electronic conductions at high oxygen partial pressures. However, in a nitrogen atmosphere, it showed pure oxide ion conduction. Proton conduction was observed in the presence of water v… Show more

“…At low temperature region (T < 300°C), the conductivity is due to mixed conduction (electronic and ionic). It could be because lanthanum indate is hygroscopic in nature and reported as mixed conductors in this region [44,45].…”

“…Moreover, the phase transition occurred by increasing the Ba content. In a part of report 11) , proton conduction was observed for this system in a wet atmosphere. However, the evidence of proton conduction has not been thoroughly obtained and the effect on phase transition is not known.…”

“…The precursors were mixed in a beaker with 100 mL of deionized water under magnetic stirring. This mixture was dried and calcined at 673 K for 2 h, followed by firing at 1773 K for 5 h for crystallization [14].…”

“…Therefore, many types of research have been conducted to utilize these electrolytes in the SOFC. On the other hand, doped LaInO 3 has rarely been introduced for electrolyte material: He et al [13] studied the Sr-doped LaInO 3 and Kim et al [14] examined the Ba-doped LaInO 3 . However, these composites show a lower ionic conductivity than doped LaGaO 3 .…”
