“…It has previously been observed in previous studies that atrial arrhythmia could be an independent predictor of increased mortality in patients with PE (45). On the other hand, COPD is independently associated with an increased burden of cardiovascular disease, and specific ECG abnormalities and cardiac arrhythmias seem to have a significant effect on cardiovascular prognosis of COPD patients (46).
