Abstract: Furfural is a pivotal renewable platform molecule obtained from the chemical breakdown of hemicellulose. While it has traditionally been valorized to value-added chemicals through catalytic hydrogenation in biorefineries, its direct electrocatalytic hydrogenation presents attractive advantages.
