“…The electronic absorption spectra in the 200-1100 nm range were obtained in DMF on a Shimadzu UV-1700 UV-Visible spectrophotometer (Firat University, Elazig, Turkey). Magnetic susceptibility were measured at room temperature with MK-1 model Gouy balance (Firat University, Elazig, Turkey) using Hg[Co(SCN) 4 ] as a reference for calibrant. Conductivities of a 10 -3 M solution of the complexes were measured in DMF at 25 o C using a CMD 750 WPA model conductivity meter (Firat University, Elazig, Turkey).…”

“…The electronic spectrum of the Co(II) complex gives two bands 410 and 500 nm. These bands may be assigned to the transitions 4 T 1g (F)(D 4h ; 4 E g ) → 4 T 1g (P)(D 4h ; 4 A 2g ) and 4 T 1g (F)(D 4h ; 4 E g ) → 4 T 1g (P)(D 4h ; 4 E g ), respectively. The positions of these bands suggest a tetragonal environment around Co 2+ ion [38].…”

“…[149][150][151] These characteristics can be very conveniently exploited for the preparation of arrays of modified electrodes. The strategy based on the electropolymerization of halogen substituted aromatic compounds has already been reported in the case of the reductive dimerization of 5-chlorophenanthroline (5-ClPhen) by Fussarydel et al 152 Following this approach, the corresponding porphyrin supermolecular species by attaching four [Ru(5-ClPhen) 2 Cl] + groups to the pyridine N-atoms of H 2 (TPyP) have also been developed. Such species have been called ETRP (electropolymerizable tetraruthenated porphyrins).…”

“…The reduction of the 5-ClPhen ligand induces the elimination of the phenanthroline chloro group as chloride anion and the formation of a radical species 152 which reacts promptly with another radical, forming a dimer in the case of the free ligand. The H 2 (ETRP) species has two of such ligand for each of the four peripheral ruthenium complexes.…”
