Electrochemical Deposition of Alkali Metal in Low-Melting Alkali Metal Perfluorosulfonylamides

Abstract: Low-melting alkali metal salts have possibility to be molten salt electrolytes for various applications. Depositions of alkali metal in the single molten salts, which correspond to their cathode limits, were investigated by cyclic voltammetry. For example, the neat Li[fTfN] molten salt showed a pair of reduction and oxidation currents on the nickel electrode. The order of deposition potential is Na > Li > K > Rb > Cs.
