Electrochemical determination of bisphenol A with a glassy carbon electrode modified with gold nanodendrites

Abstract: Three-dimensional gold nanodendrites with (111)-oriented growth were fabricated on a glassy carbon electrode by one-step electrodeposition of AuCl 4 − in the presence of Lasparagine. The gold nanodendrites were functionalized with 4-mercaptobenzoic acid (4-MBA), which showed the improved catalytic performance for sensitive and selective determination of bisphenol A (BPA) by differential pulse voltammetry. The oxidation peak currents of BPA at 514 mV showed linear responses to BPA concentrations from 0.05 to 55… Show more

“…In another study, Chen et al succeeded in elaborating nano-dendrites at the surface of GCE by one-step electrodeposition in the presence of a gold precursor AuCl4 − and L-asparagine [ 289 ]. The electrodeposited nano-dendrites were functionalized with 4-mercaptobenzoic acid (4-MBA), leading to better catalytic performance and sensitive and selective detection of BPA using DPV.…”

“…So the electrochemical detection of BPA generally depends on a modified electrode. For example, Chen's group [12] used gold nanodendrites modified glassy carbon electrode (GCE) for the electrochemical determination of BPA, which showed a high sensitivity and a low detection limit of 1.2 nM.…”
