“…Benzothiophene has been homopolymerized electrochemically and formed a polybenzothiophene (PBT) film on the electrode surface which contains 1,2,3-trisubstituted benzene rings and features a rigid, conjugated and planar structure. [9][10][11][12][13] The PBT film has high conductivity, but it is brittle and insoluble in any solvent. 9,13 In addition, there are studies on the electrochemical copolymerization of benzothiophene.…”

“…To combine the electrical, chemical, and physical properties of the corresponding homopolymers and then improve them further, the aromatic polymers containing two components have been prepared as copolymers, composites, bilayers, or blends. Some peculiar characteristics have been combined. ,,,,, PAN, which has long been known to exhibit an interesting electrical conductivity and was recently rediscovered as a novel conducting polymer, should be an attractive conductive polymer due to its environmental stability, easy reversibility of protonation, excellent redox recyclicability, ease of synthesis, and low price. ,,,, In particular, its very large variable range of conductivity with doping process, humidity, and electrical field, nonlinear conducting characteristics and better filtering properties of undoped PAN, better microwave absorbing ability, and electromagnetic shielding efficiency of HCl-doped PAN allow the type of PAN to be adapted according to the specific applications in electrical and electronic industrial fields . PAN has been deeply investigated and is now produced industrially on a small scale .…”

“…As one of the typical low‐band‐gap conducting polymers, polyisothianaphthene had been studied extensively 4,5. On the contrary, very few publications concerning the electrosynthesis and characterization of polythianaphthene (PTN), one of the isomers of polyisothianaphthene, have been reported 6…”
