Electrochemical reduction of nitrite to ammonia on amorphous MoO₃ nanosheets

Abstract

Amorphous MoO3 is demonstrated to be an efficient catalyst for electrocatalytic NO2− reduction to NH3, arising from the amorphization-induced O-vacancies to promote the NO2−-to-NH3 reaction energetics.
