Electrochemical Studies of 316L/20G Clad Pipe Weld Joint Corrosion Behavior

Abstract: To research the corrosion of clad pipe weld joint, commenting the welding processes of and analysis of the corrosion medium of clad pipe weld joint, using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy carried out the comparative analysis of Nyquist and bode diagram within the time limit of clad pipe weld joint. The results showed that: 316L/20G clad pipe weld joint in the sewage water up to two weeks, because of the passive film thickening, weld corrosion resistance up to the maximum, and then stabilized; Its resista… Show more

“…Titanium alloy has been widely used in the construction of offshore facilities because of its good corrosion resistance and high mechanical properties (Mochizuki et al, 2007;Yang et al, 2011;Pang and Blackwood, 2015;Rondelli and Vicentini, 2015). But with the long-term service of titanium alloy, the problem of corrosion failure of welding joint can not be ignored (Fan et al, 2013;Bai et al, 2018;Quazi et al, 2020). The welded joint is a continuous heterogeneous structure composed of the base metal (BM), heat affected zone (HAZ) and weld metal (WM) (Lu et al, 2003;Choi and Kim, 2018).…”
