Electrodeposition of High-Mn Zinc-Manganese Alloys From Chloride Eectrolyte

Abstract: Zinc-manganese alloys containing up to 40 at. % Mn were successfuly electrodeposited from a solution made of Zn and Mn chlorides, and boric acid. Cyclic voltammetry and chronoamperometry were used to clarify the influence of Mn salt concentration in the solution and deposition current density, on the kinetics of Zn-Mn electroreduction. Energy dispersive X-ray spectrometry was used to investigate a chemical composition of Zn-Mn deposits, and scanning electron microscopy was used for surface morphology analysis.… Show more
