“…The duplex Ni-P-ZrO 2 /Ni-P coating was electroless deposited by Gao et al [9], and it was found that the duplex coatings have very good corrosion resistance compared with the single Ni-P coating, these also show hydrophobic properties. Araghi et al [21] prepared for the Ni-W-P/B 4 C nano-composite coating and studied its microstructure, crystallite size, morphology, microhardness and corrosion resistance.…”

“…The influence of stabilizers on binary electroless Ni-P coatings has been studied [17][18][19][20]. However, insufficient data can be found on the influence of stabilizers for ternary Ni-W-P coating [21,22]. Our preliminary experiment results indicated that the plating bath decomposed very quickly if no stabilizer was present.…”

“…Incorporation of certain types of nanoparticles in the Ni-P matrix enables an increase in corrosion resistance, while a reversal in trend is observed for others. EL Ni-P nanocomposite coatings incorporated with CNTs [12], WS 2 [20], TiO 2 [16], SiC [13], and SiO 2 [43] have increased the corrosion resistance, while those built-in with TiN [21], B 4 C [44], and a-Al 2 O 3 [25] exhibit a decrease in corrosion resistance when compared to their particle-free counterparts. A variety of reasons is suggested to account for this behavior.…”
