Abstract:The article describes an electroluminescent fission chamber based on optical detection of fission pulses. The use of the optical path can significantly reduce gamma background and increase the resistance to electrical and mechanical interference. Registration is based on the use of electroluminescence in strong electric fields with a significant 103−4 times increase in light, which makes it possible to record individual fission events in a counting mode.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
