Abstract:Electrolyte derangement, defined as disorders of clinically impactful physiologic ions such as potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, and phosphate, has a variety of clinical manifestations. These electrolytes have narrow windows of normal in vivo concentration before neurologic, cardiac, renal, or gastrointestinal consequences occur.
