Electromagnetic asymmetry, relegation of curvature singularities of charged black holes, and cosmological equations of state in view of the Born–Infeld theory

Abstract: It is shown that the Born--Infeld nonlinear electrodynamics with a polynomial type nonlinearity accommodates finite-energy electric point charges but rejects finite-energy magnetic point charges, or monopoles, thereby spelling out an electromagnetic asymmetry. Moreover, it is demonstrated, in a systematic way, that the curvature singularities of finite-energy charged black holes in the context of the Born--Infeld theory may effectively be relegated or in some cases removed under a critical mass-energy cond… Show more

“…On the other hand, solutions admitting timelike naked singularities are investigated by probing the singularity with quantum wave packets. It is worth emphasizing here that there are c number of interesting solutions in the literature that involves nonlinear electrodynamics fields in different form of Lagrangian [61][62][63][64][65][66][67][68][69]. Analysis of those solutions would be an interesting task an our future studies along this direction.…”

“…Review of some NED Lagrangians was presented in [61]. Lagrangian (A1) was used in [62,63,64] to construct static and spherically symmetric black hole solutions in the Einstein-Euler-Heisenberg system.…”

“…In addition, BI has been studied as coupling with general relativity [61]. In recent years, Einstein-Born-Infeld gravity has been studied in various papers [62][63][64][65][66][67][68][69][70][71][72][73][74][75][76]. Magnetically charged BH has been studied with the presence of BI NLED [77], as well as other NLEDs [58,78].…”
