Electromagnetic, Ultrasonic, Photic and Electrical Posterior Segment Ocular Traumas

Abstract

Electromagnetic, ultrasonic, photonic, and electrical external factors can damage the sensitive posterior segment structures of the eye. After trauma, patients can apply to eye clinics with vision loss. Electromagnetic, ultrasonic, photic, and electrical traumas can damage the retina through mechanical, thermal, and chemical effects. The most important complaints of patients who are referred to the eye clinics are decreased visual acuity and visual field loss. Trauma history should be carefully questioned in patients presenting with these complaints. When patients have a history of electromagnetic, ultrasonic, photic, and electrical trauma, it is important to perform detailed retinal and posterior segment examination and evaluation.
