Abstract: Sidelying hip abduction (SHA) is a common exercise utilized in rehabilitation to strengthen the gluteus medius (GMed). Alterations in the exercise can produce different patterns of muscular activity. No studies have examined the effect of mechanical pelvic stabilization during SHA.
