Abstract

Purpose for the Program T his initiative was implemented in response to a sentinel event involving failure of nursing staff to appropriately recognize, escalate, and communicate critical clinical information in an obstetric setting. The purpose was to enhance patient safety and improve outcomes through early recognition, escalation, and communication of changing maternal-fetal conditions.
