Electrophoretic deposition of cobalt oxide nanoparticles on aluminium substrate

Abstract: In the present work, the effects of deposition time and applied voltage on the quality of cobalt nanoparticle film, deposited on aluminium substrate have been investigated experimentally. Cobalt oxide nanoparticles were produced by laser ablation method. The produced nanoparticles were deposited on aluminium substrate with electrophoretic deposition technique at different applied voltage and deposition time. Produced nanoparticles as well as deposited films were characterized by employing several diagnostics i… Show more

“…The electrophoretic assembly method is regarded as a convenient and low-cost technique to assemble differently charged micro/nanoparticles or polymer molecules to form even target films on substrates with different structures [ 100 , 101 , 102 ], including tiny devices used in micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS). Recently, different kinds of tEMs with controllable structures and properties were successfully fabricated by the electrophoretic assembly method.…”

“…Films with different characteristics, for example, thickness and homogeneity, can be formed by varying the electric field strength, solvent type, particle size, and the electrophoretic mobility. [122] This method has been used to deposit gold nanoparticles of different sizes onto ITO glass electrodes by applying 0.2-1.6 V. Nanoparticles of metal oxides and sulfides, such as copper, [123,124] iron, [125] cobalt, [126] zinc, [127] and titanium, [128] have been deposited under optimized conditions. Carbon-based materials such as graphene oxide, [129][130][131][132][133] graphene quantum dots, [134] carbon nanotubes, [135] and their composites were deposited using applied voltages ranging from 2 to 100 V, selected based on the charge and mobility of the materials.…”

“…All colloidal charged particles that can be used to form stable suspensions can be used in EPD. From the beginning of the century, colloidal particles suspensions were gradually substituted by nanostructures suspensions [6][7][8][9].…”
