Electrostatic Investigation of 4-Dicyanomethylene-2,6-dimethyl-4H-pyran (DDP) Dye with Amide Derivatives in Water

Abstract: Cyclic voltammetry (CV) studies of 4-dicyanomethylene-2,6-4H-pyran (DDP) dye with alkyl-substituted amides were carried out in an aqueous solution. Formamide and substituted amide interaction with DDP dye were characterized by fluorescence spectral techniques in an aqueous solution, but the electrochemical nature and the interaction at the interface region between dye−amide remains largely unexplored. The introduction of formamide to DDP dye exhibits an increase in the peak current accompanied with potential v… Show more

“…The anodic peak potential was found to shift toward a more positive value, while the cathodic peak potential moves toward a more negative value. The shifting of peak potential and increase in peak current indicate the mode of interaction and the nature of binding of compounds in solution . Based on information of potential separation and linearity at all scan rates, the title compound exhibits reversible behavior in the present electrolyte solution…”

“…The shifting of peak potential and increase in peak current indicate the mode of interaction and the nature of binding of compounds in solution. 31 Based on information of potential separation and linearity at all scan rates, the title compound exhibits reversible behavior in the present electrolyte solution. 3234 A plot between the peak current (ip) and the square root of the scan rate (υ 1/2 ) is linear (Figure 4B and 4C).…”

“…67 In addition, [Ru(bipy) 2 (mcb)] 2+ shows high water solubility, the lack of which is usually the main drawback of current organic fluorophores operating in the NIR region including cyanine and 4H-pyran based dyes. 68 Finally, we explored the stability of Conjugate 3 at physiological conditions over time via UV and fluorescence spectroscopy (Fig. S4 †).…”
