Elevated Umbilical Cord Ghrelin Concentrations in Small for Gestational Age Neonates

Abstract: Ghrelin has orexigenic effects. It is present in umbilical cord plasma in full-term neonates, raising the prospect that ghrelin plays a role in fetal and neonatal energy balance.
