Effect of a gas–gas-heater on H2SO4 aerosol formation: Implications for mist formation in amine based carbon capture

Mertens et al, 2014 show that H 2 SO 4 aerosols entering the absorber are observed to be extremely small (80 % <0.02 m) with number concentrations exceeding 1 E8 cm −3 . This corresponds to the numbers and Particle Size Distribution (PSD) predicted by the simulations as presented by Brachert et al, 2014 who investigated the aerosol formation in flue gas cleaning.…”
