“…The recorded S2p peaks were fitted with a spin-orbit doublet comprising S2p3 and S2p1 (Δ = 1.18 eV), and the 2p3-to-2p1 peak-area ratiowas fitted to the expected value of 2:1. The three fitted S2p3 peaks at ~161.70 eV were attributed to the sulfide in ZnS, which was consistentwith the previous works (160.80 [22], 161.80 [23], 161.50 [24] and 161.65 [25] eV). However, we found no polysulfides species on the sample surfaces, which was inconsistent with previous works [2,11,13].…”

“…The O 1s spectrum at around 529.6 eV and 531.5 eV were corresponded to O–C O and C=O of the carboxyl functional group, respectively. And the new peak at around 530.2 eV after adsorption can be attributed to the formation of Pb–O [ 56 , 81 , 82 ]. In the S 2p spectrum, the peak at around 163.3 eV was the free sulfhydryl functional group, and the peak at around 164.0 eV was the disulfide bond after oxidation in the synthesis process [ 83 , 84 ].…”

“…However, the zeta potential values for RDP-FC-Cu are more negative than the zeta potential values for RDP. This means that RDP-FC-Cu is more stable in the adsorption solution than RDP and more electrostatically negative, which poses more electrostatic attraction forces towards the positively charged lithium ions 32 . This is supported by the fact that RDP-FC-Cu achieved higher adsorption removals than RDP at all pH values, and not just 2, 6, and 8.…”
