Air pollution is considered as a major public health issue worldwide. It consists of a complex mixture of pollutants including nanoparticles to which we are increasingly exposed to due to the dramatic development of the nanotechnologies and their incidental or intentional release in the environment. Consequently, some concerns have raised about the combined toxicity of air particulates and other air pollutants on human health. However, the interactions between the contaminants and their resulting combined toxicity are often overlooked. Indeed, the biological effects triggered by nanoparticles are usually assessed focusing on individual nanoparticles, while their interaction with co-contaminants can deeply impact, either positively or negatively, their biodistribution, fate in the organism and toxicological profile (additive, synergistic or antagonistic responses). This paper presents a bibliographic review on the combined toxicity of nanoparticles and co-pollutants and discusses the underlying mechanisms. It also highlights the scarcity of data in the current literature, arguing for an urgent need to take into account the mixture effects to be more representative of real-life conditions for a better and accurate human health risk assessment and management.

which significantly enhances the solid-solid soot-catalyst contact. This enhanced contact, together with the improved reducibility of PrOx regarding CeO2, ameliorate the active oxygen production and its transfer to soot particles, improving the soot combustion with O2. In addition, the higher ability of PrOx to oxidize NO to NO2, improves the soot combustion in a higher extent than CeO2 in presence of NOx. The catalytic activity of PrOx-3DOM after several soot combustion cycles is also confirmed.

A significant role in ensuring comfortable living conditions in the urban environment is played by the competent organization of the transport and road complex, which is aimed at ensuring road safety, reducing the load on highways for car density and improving the efficiency of traffic in the city when performing planning and technological measures. At the same time, the current state of the city’s traffic flows as sources of increased chemical pollution of the air environment requires an increase in the distance from streets and roads to residential buildings. This distance should be normalized by chemical and physical indicators of the state of atmospheric air and should be taken into account when red lines are established. In this article we analyze: functional state of the city, road network, composition and intensity of traffic flows for Tyumen. The traffic flows of the city are concentrated mainly in the central part of it. A particularly critical situation is formed at the intersections of cargo-loaded main streets at the hours of maximum traffic intensity and on the main highways of the city. We substitute the provision of regulatory requirements for the chemical pollution level at a distance from the border of the carriageway to the border of residential buildings in order to achieve sustainable urban development.
