Abstract:A method is described for making estimates of the total emissivity of hydrogen in the temperature and pressure ranges where hydrogen atoms predominate under equilibrium conditions. For a typical geometrical depth of 50 cm, and temperatures of the order of 12 500 0 K and higher, with pressures of the order of 100 atmos and higher, the emissivity approaches unity «:;0.95), while for temperatures of the order of 9500 0 K and lower, with pressures of the order of 10 atmos and lower, the emissivity approaches zero … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
