Emotion Communication Model Based on Life-Log Comparison: Mutual Understanding through Comparable Experiences

Abstract: No one can see your emotion but we can see your action [1]." That is to say, we can't see emotion but can recognize the emotion from the action it triggers. We propose an emotion communication model that permits images to be exchanged and attendant algorithms that identify and mine "comparable" experiences from Life-Logs. In this paper, we show our approach to the emotion communication model. We then construct and test a prototype system using real life-log data. Finally, we elucidate the cross-correlation rel… Show more

“…The function for automatically generating supplementary information uses information on the Internet to automatically generate supplementary information about commercial products and the like [3]. For example, if the signage for foreign visitors in a restaurant simply translates a dish as "A mackerel merou" [namerou], they will likely not be able to clearly understand what sort of dish it is.…”

“…In addition to a search engine for gathering basic information such as the names of products and shops, there is a sensibility communication engine, which aids understanding by using life-log information such as purchase information and whether a product, shop atmosphere, or other thing seen for the first time corresponds to something in the user's past experience [4], [5]. There is also a word-of-mouth summary engine, which can analyze different kinds of evaluative information (known as word-of-mouth information) on a product or shop to create a short summary that can be displayed on the small screen of a smart device [6].…”
