In several studies, emotional eating has been used to differentiate individuals with obesity and bingeeating disorder (BED) from individuals with obesity, suggesting that this tendency to eat in response to negative affect may be a contributor to loss of control eating (Escandón-Nagel, Peró, Grau, Soriano, & Feixas, 2018;Leehr et al, 2015;Masheb & Grilo, 2006).
