Emotions into Disorder: Anxiety Disorders and the Social Meaning of Fear

Abstract: This article explores what we refer to as norm‐stimuli‐state discrepancies, which are disparities between people's physical‐emotional responses to emotional cues and the normative meanings of those cues.
