Abstract:Some thermodynamic and magnetic properties of NaCI-type MX compounds (M: actinide, X: metalloid) were evaluated from their bonding nature. The number of electrons in a molecule participating in bonding, N B , was determined from tJ1e lattice parameter using the Pauling's equation. The binding energy defined as the enthalpy changes accompanied with the reaction of MX(s)=M(g)+X(g) at 298K showed a linear relationship against bonding electron density: The number of electrons notparticipating in bonding, N L , was… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
