“…Finally, one thousand questionnaires were sent to SMEs entrepreneurs’ using a convenience sampling approach in November and December 2019. The reason to use this approach is that it saves cost and time, and easy to respond by the respondents (Mahmud et al , 2022; De Beuckelaer and Wagner, 2012; Ali et al , 2019; Jean-Noël et al , 2020). After two months of follow-up, we received 336 questionnaires, and five were deleted due to inappropriate fillings, resulting in 331 duly filled questionnaires (greater than 320 of Yamane’s sample size) with a response rate of 33% available for performing further analysis.…”

“…Our research used structural equation modeling (SEM) in AMOS 24.0 to validate the proposed model and structural associations. The logic to validate the proposed model in AMOS is that AMOS is a powerful analytical tool that performs factorial (measurement model), and structural associations' (structural model) analysis together (Mahmud et al, 2022;Hair et al, 2019Hair et al, , 1998Hu and Bentler, 1999). Moreover, we used the bootstrapping approach of Preacher and Hayes (2008) in AMOS to confirm the mediation associations of the proposed hypotheses.…”

“…Recent scholarly research investigations have focused on the aspects of employees' behaviors that may lead to better social sustainability outcomes (Chia et al, 2020;Roeck & Farooq, 2018;Hur et al, 2021;Hill et al, 2021). Key argument of aforementioned research is that for positive operational performance, social sustainability initiatives may be implemented through societal behaviors (Mahmud et al, 2022;Mahmud et al, 2020;De Roeck & Farooq, 2018) that lead to active employee engagement and commitment (Shao et al, 2022). Employee societal conduct refers to person's socially conscious activities and demeanor that promote community wellbeing, overall social welfare even outside of framework of organizational work environment (Nazir et al, 2021;Mahmud et al, 2021b).…”

“…This alignment with CDR principles underscores employee involvement's significance in realizing its overarching goals. Notably, comprehensive reviews by Nejati and Shafaei (2023), Mahmud et al (2022), and meta‐analyses conducted by Zhao et al (2022) further emphasize the crucial role employees play in driving organizational sustainability and social welfare.…”
