Employment Opportunities And Income Analysis Before And During Covid-19: Indirect Least Square Approach

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the relationship between employment opportunities and income before and during COVID-19. The research data collection is divided into two time periods, including January to March 2020 which is the period before COVID-19, while April to June 2020 is the period of during COVID-19. Each time period in this study analyzed 100 samples measured using a Likert scale. The method used in this research is simultaneous equation analysis with the Indirect Least Squares (ILS) approach. An importa… Show more

“…Furthermore, the factual phenomenon that occurs is that POV in Indonesia tends to fluctuate, but there was a relatively high increase in 2016-2018, while in 2019-2022, there was a decrease (Erhabor & Don, 2016). This fluctuation in EQI and POV is likely caused by the low contribution of GG, which has tended to decline over the last six years (Aimon et al, 2022b;Allen, 2020).…”

“…The degradation of environment, which is a primary source of livelihood and sustenance, can negatively affect welfare and increase income inequality. Moreover, this dynamic relationship between income inequality and environmental degradation, supported by relevant studies, is intricately based on economic growth [8][9][10].…”

“…The relationship between economic growth (EG) and environmental degradation (ED) is complex and often subject to debate. While economic growth is traditionally measured by indicators such as GDP growth, job creation, and increased standards of living, environmental degradation refers to the deterioration of ecosystems, depletion of natural resources, and pollution [1,2]. Acceleration of the national development process in an effort to catch up with developed countries, developing countries such as Indonesia, carry out various maneuvers in achieving high EG without conducting further studies of changes in the large-scale transformation of the economic system that are so fast, in which all sectors are directed for industrial success [3,4].…”
