Abstract:Enantiomerism or drug chirality is one of the major concerns in drug discovery and development since more than 50% of currently marketed drugs are chiral compounds. Chiral molecules are also called enantiomers where a molecule contains at least one asymmetric carbon. Chiral inversion is an important phenomenon in which an enantiomer may convert from one enantiomeric configuration to the other which can be unidirectional or bidirectional. Enantiomers, though similar in their chemical structure, show notic… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
