Abstract:Pseudo-Boolean constraints constitute an important class of constraints. Despite extensive studies of SAT encodings for PB constraints, there are no generally accepted SAT encodings for PB constraints. In this paper we revisit encoding PB constraints into SAT via binary adders and BDDs. For the binary adder encoding, we present an optimizing compiler that incorporates preprocessing, decomposition, constant propagation, and common subexpression elimination techniques tailored to PB constraints. For encoding via… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
