Abstract:Reasonable end effect equivalence is of vital importance in the 2-D finite element analysis (FEA) for a line-start permanent magnet synchronous motor (LSPMSM) equipped with a hybrid solid rotor for improved starting and synchronous capabilities. In this work, a series of correction factors are applied to the rotor conductivity to include the end effect in the 2-D FEA model.
