Endometrial receptivity array: Clinical application

Abstract: Human implantation is a complex process requiring synchrony between a healthy embryo and a functionally competent or receptive endometrium. Diagnosis of endometrial receptivity (ER) has posed a challenge and so far most available tests have been subjective and lack accuracy and a predictive value. Microarray technology has allowed identification of the transcriptomic signature of the window of receptivity window of implantation (WOI). This technology has led to the development of a molecular diagnostic tool, t… Show more

“…Also, an endometrial receptivity array (ERA test) has been recently introduced . This assay classifies the endometrium as receptive, pre‐receptive, or post‐receptive based on specific transcriptomic signature regardless of its histological appearance . Unfortunately, each of the above reported technique shows limitations: invasive procedures, expertise dependency, sample collection, and culturing limitations.…”

“…An unsupportive endometrium, leading to abnormal implantation, is considered a vital factor contributing to recurrent pregnancy loss 2 . There is general agreement that the impedance to uterine artery blood flow diminishes progressively and reaches the lowest values during the midluteal phase, which temporally coincides with the implantation window 3 .…”

“…Still, the research continues to develop a test based on a single molecular marker. The list of potential candidates is long, based on temporary expression of many proteins during the implantation window [37,38].…”
