Abstract: Background: Chronic pancreatitis develops in a subgroup of patients with recurrent acute pancreatitis. Detection of chronicity helps prognostication and formulation of management plan. Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) may detect early stages of chronic pancreatitis and hence serve as a useful diagnostic tool.
