At the beginning of the era of this new modality of treatment, in North America home-made devices made of balloon expandable stents covered with vein or PTFE were used, while in Europe the Cragg Endo Pro stents were used, which included the System 1 (a self expandable nitinol stent covered by polyester fabric, Cragg EndoPro System; Mintec, La Ciotat, France); the Passager stent graft (a self expandable, polyester-covered metal stent-grafts; Boston Scientific, Watertown, Mass), and the Corvita stentgraft (a metallic self-expandable, braided wire stent to which is bonded an inner liner of polycarbonate urethane microfibers; Boston Scientific, Bülach, Switzerland).…”

“…Lovegrove et al in a recent meta-analysis reported that endovascular repair of PAAs offers similar medium-term benefits but higher rates of early graft thrombosis and early interventions compared to open repair [14]. It is clear that although different case series [15, 16] and reports suggest the utility and technical success of endoluminal approach, long-term patency rates of endovascular repair of PAAs are still awaited. In our patient, there was an adequate landing zone for the graft in the PA, while simultaneously distal runoff was uncompromised.…”

“…Early outcomes of endovascular treatment have been encouraging, more so for patients considered high risk for open surgery. 8,9 A recent Cochrane review has demonstrated the existence of equipoise between endovascular and open methods in the management of asymptomatic PAAs. 10 Rupture of a PAA is rare but can have severe consequences.…”
