Endovascular Treatment of Renal Artery Aneurysms With Conventional Non-Detachable Microcoils and Guglielmi Detachable Coils

Abstract: Objective To evaluate the eÃcacy and safety of endo-Results All RAAs were occluded successfully. In two patients treated with NDCs there were minor compli-vascular occlusion of true renal artery aneurysms (RAAs) with conventional non-detachable microcoils cations, i.e. one subsegmental peripheral infarction and one misembolization, both without clinical symp-(NDCs) and Guglielmi detachable coils (GDCs). Patients and methods Over a 5-year period, 12 RAAs toms. In the group treated with GDCs there were no compli… Show more

“…In recent years, transcatheter arterial embolization has emerged as a simple, useful and effective technique in managing IRAAs [15,30,. Indications for using this procedure include IPRAA rupture, hematuria, renal infarction, small bleeding aneurysms in patients with arteritis, false aneurysms following renal biopsies or percutaneous procedures, and high risk patients for udergoing surgery.…”

“…Endoluminal stentgrafting and detachable microcoil emboliation (packing) are the two main endovascular procedures. Both procedures have been reported on and in the short term are successful [1][2][3][4]. Superselective embolization of the aneurysm, which was originally used in treating intracranial aneurysms, is effective by occluding the sac while maintaining the patency of the feeding vessel.…”
