“…Moreover, clean energy storage systems could be considered. Among these, the renewable hydrogen represents a viable clean storage solution which offers several applications such as hydrogen enriched natural gas blends (H 2 NG) and the deferred load meeting by fuel cell integration [9][10][11].…”

“…A similar approach has been yet widely conducted to assess PV array potential in the literature-based model [23], which allows to calculate the solar irradiation at any specific location, providing essential design values for the amount of electricity at a fixed efficiency, taking into account present and future technology options and their associated Levelized Cost Of Energy (LCOE). Further studies adopted this flexible point of view in planning deployment and relative storage systems [24], based on the location and its characteristics and on the energy system components (i.e. buildings) with which it interfaces [22,25].…”

“…Thanks to a database assembling operation, formed by real energy consumptions data billed to the airport infrastructure, the preliminary consumption study has been grounded in a statistical analysis of representative real data properly stored and organized. Primary energy values have been calculated in accordance with the requirements defined in the Deliberation EEN 3/08 of Italian Regulatory Authority for Electricity and Gas [24].…”

“…Benefiting from the storage stability, energy density, and transformation capability (Power-to-Gas) of hydrogen, the hydrogen penetrated energy system (HPES) is attracting great attention in recent years [3][4][5]. The hydrogen can be used as the fuel not only for the fuel-cell battery but also for the combined cooling and heating plant (CCHP) when mixed with natural gas, the so-called Hydrogen Compressed Nature Gas (HCNG) [6,7]. However, due to the tight coupling characteristics of the HPES and the little research on HCNG powered CCHP, it is difficult to establish mathematical models of the equipment within HPES in high accuracy, and the operational scheduling and adjustment for HPES also require high computation resources.…”
