Abstract: Background: Energy expenditure (EE) in patients with aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH) may differ from other intracranial pathologies, such as intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) or traumatic brain injury (TBI), due to an activation of the sympathetic nervous system.
