Energy levels of chromium, Cr I through Cr XXIV

Abstract: The energy lel'eis of the chromium atom in all of ils stages of ionization, as derived from the analyses of atomic spectra. have been compiled. In cases where only line classifications are g,ven in the literature, level values have been derived. The percentages for the two leading components of the calculated eigenvectors of the levels are given where available. lonizarion energies and g•factors are also given.

“…New compilations of energy levels of atoms and ions of the iron period are being undertaken by the NBS Atomic Energy Levels Data Center of the Spectroscopy Section. Publication of chromium by Sugar and Corliss (1977) and iron by bas been completed. The previous compilation of manganese energy levels, by Moore (1952), includes only fourteen of the twenty-five manganese spectra and many of those have since been significantly revised or corrected.…”

“…A collection of these compilations, with revisions, is planned as one volume for the iron period. Already completed are the compilation for iron by Reader and Sugar (1975), chromium and vandium by Sugar and Corliss (1977and Corliss ( , 1978, and manganese by Corliss and Sugar (1977). The present work on titanium will be followed by a compilation of the energy levels of calcium.…”
