Energy management as a service over fog computing platform

Abstract: Cyber-Physical Energy System (CPES) has been seen as the new paradigm of tight integration of power systems, embedded systems, control, and communication. CPES is capable of improving power grid reliability, efficiency, and performance by managing the supply and demand functionalities of the power systems effectively and intelligently. In this demo, we present an energy management system prototype for home and microgrid levels (both from residential domain), implemented over a fog computing platform. The proto… Show more

“…For securing the framework operations, existing authentication techniques are applied. Korosh et al [22] also develop a PaaS framework that manages electricity usage in a home and in micro grid levels over Fog infrastructure. It can deal with the heterogeneity of Fog nodes and IoT devices and ensure data encryption.…”

“…There are also some requirements to impose reducing gas emission controlled curtail and climate change [123]. Cyber Physical Energy System [124] is proposed for improving performance and reliability, for efficient production consumption of power from grids through the better smart management of demand and supply, throughout fog intelligence framework. A model application of this system has been implemented with fog platform to support monitoring, automotive response, and scalability.…”
