Energy restriction and housing of pregnant beef heifers in mud decreases body weight and conceptus free live weight

Abstract: Average temperatures in the Midwest, USA are predicted to increase 2 to 9°C by the end of the century; resulting in muddy pastures for spring calving beef heifers as they enter late gestation.
